LITIGATION SERVICES 

     The core of KBBO's practice is litigation, from prevention and management of risks to claims, lawsuits, trials, and appeals. KBBO represents a wide variety of clients, from large companies to individuals, in a broad range of litigation and claims, both routine and complex. 

     KBBO works to achieve the client’s objectives through meticulous preparation, and aggressive pursuit of the cause. Early in the process KBBO will work with clients to develop a mutually agreed-upon litigation strategy. KBBO encourages frank communication about the magnitude of what is at issue or risk. KBBO offers you flexibility in administrative matters such as billing arrangements and reporting. 

Regional and National Litigation: 

     Denver's geographic location is advantageous for regional and national work. As the transportation, financial, and business hub of the Rocky Mountain and Intermountain West, Denver is the seat of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and a major population center. Due to the experience and reputation of KBBO’s attorneys, we have an established, well-respected regional and national litigation practice. 

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR):

     When consistent with client needs, we aggressively pursue Alternative Dispute Resolution. In appropriate cases, ADR can reduce litigation costs, keep the dispute in a more private setting and reach a conclusion more quickly. ADR offers many alternatives to traditional litigation, including arbitration, mediation, med-arb, summary jury trial, private judges, and a variety of other techniques. 

Damage Control:  

     In matters that may have a potential to cause harm to a client’s reputation, shareholders' equity, product, or service, or which may even threaten a company's survival, KBBO is prepared to face the challenge with the client and devise damage-control strategies involving the media, the government, public perception, and customer reaction. 

Appellate Practice :  

     KBBO attorneys have briefed and argued cases in all state and federal appellate courts in Colorado and in a number of other jurisdictions as well. In recognition of our appellate experience we have been retained from time to time to prepare amicus curiae briefs on behalf of business organizations and industry groups. KBBO is well-equipped to initiate or defend appeals in both state and federal judicial systems. 

Costs and Fees :

     KBBO recognizes clients’ concerns about the uncertainty of litigation costs if litigation becomes prolonged. While KBBO cannot guarantee a quick end to litigation, KBBO is committed to working with our clients to reach the right point by the right road cost-effectively.
